Especially The Gaildorf-line of the family, August's descendants kept up the family contact. Here one has to mention the only daughter Auguste (IX,14), whose husband, the chief engineer Alfred Wagner, built a nice house for his family in Nuernberg-Erlenstegen. Auguste, who had grown up amidst seven brothers had been wild like a boy herself in her childhood. In her marriage she became a charming woman. Very often she visited her relatives in Swabia and she was loved by everybody. Her two lively sons died before she did. Eugen (X,37) went to the German colony East Africa as a plantation surveyor, later he went to Samoa for three years. When he was back home on sick leave, he wanted to return to Africa. On board the ship he fell seriously ill and died shortly after the landing in 1907 in the hospital of Tanga. While he had been at home in 1903 his bother Alfred (X,38) lost his life. Alfred was an engineer in Riga+ where his fiancee lived. During a vacation in Nuernberg he hurt his spine during a header in the swimming pool and died shortly afterwards. Auguste's brother August (IX,16) died young; he had been a tradesman in Ellwangen. Otto, who was a mechanic, stayed unmarried. Her five other brothers got married and had children. We will talk about Julius (IX,15), the architect, later.
